Phil Wild

Phil Wild first hit the stage at age seven, performing poetry at a school Eisteddfod (the word Eisteddfod is derived from the Welsh word eistedd, meaning “sit”). As a teenager, Phil acted, sang, and danced in Musical Comedy shows such as Showboat and Fiddler On The Roof.

After ditching promising careers with Westpac, Channel Ten, and Sportsgirl, Brisbane local Phil Wild has been performing Stand-Up Comedy professionally since the turn of the century. He was far too drunk to remember how his first gig actually went – but his friends assured him he was funny. Six months later he was a finalist in the Triple J Raw Comedy Competition, and has worked professionally ever since.

Phil has quickly become a fixture on the Brisbane and Sydney comedy circuit and has been developing a variety of skills as a stand up comic, and writer. Career highlights include opening for Arj Barker and Ed Byrne, and a standout performance at 2008 Stitches Comedy Festival at QLD Performing Arts Complex. In 2007 Phil ran an alternative comedy room, and one night convinced Jimeoin to perform in exchange for one glass of diet coke.

Phil’s live stand-up performances have been featured Nationally on Triple J, and Austereo, as well as locally on 4ZZZ and SwitchFM.
